Guitar Practice Tracker + Picks

Hello Reader,

I had a reader ask me recently if there was a good way to track their progress in the 7 Day Guitar Practice Routine Book.

I happened to have a little free time late last night (couldn't sleep 🀣), so I came up with this 35 page PDF tracker companion for the book.

Don't worry, it's free! You can grab it here.

Inside the tracker you'll find interactive check boxes, notes, metronome trackers, more for each day of the week mapped out over 4 weeks so you can check out your progress in monthly chunks.

It will work on any smart phone, but will look better on a full size tablet or computer screen. I hope it helps, and please reply back with any suggestions I could add to improve it.

Token Picks

Recently I started using these Token B2-45 picks. I'm blown away by the durability, tone, and super high-quality craftsmanship of these picks.

I'm always into trying new picks. My first takeaway is the crazy durability. Normally I would blow through typical Jazz/Metal Dunlop picks in 1-2 gigs. I've been using the same Token pick for a month and it is showing NO signs of wear at all. Yeah, they're pricy, (Made in the USA) but totally worth it. Look for a demo video from me soon. 🀘

Free Bach PDF

Monday Picking! Hey there Reader, Bach walked 250 miles. You only have to walk to the couch. 🎸 In the fall of 1705, Bach was 20 years old working as an organist in Arnstadt. He wanted hear a Dietrich Buxtehude organ perfomance. So he asked for 4 weeks off and walked 250 miles on foot! I think about that story whenever I catch myself negotiating with a practice session. Bach didn't have a metronome app, a tab site, or a guitar sitting three feet from his chair. He had a road and a reason to...

Weekend Warm-Up Hi Reader, This week we had some cool lessons on Pentatonic scales.. If you missed them just hit reply and I'll forward them over to you. As I'm getting ready play my 4th gig this week in New Smyrna Beach, I thought I'd do a quick lesson on warm-up routines. These are things I do between gigs to keep both hands in great shape. Warm-ups are also good for mini-practice sessions when you don't have a lot of time or don't want to fatigue yourself too much before a gig, workout...

Guitar Newsletter August Hello, Reader, Monday we talked about the 3 variations of a Pentatonic scale:1) minor2) Major3) BluesJosh one of my readers replied with a great question that I didn't fully cover in that lesson:Question: "why is it minor or major depending on where you start the shape?" Answer : It all comes down to which scale degrees you're starting on. For example in G Major.. if we start on G using shape 2 below we get:G A B D E – then those notes are repeated until we run out of...
